"One of our biggest mistakes is to limit our circles to people who look, think, and vote like us. It minimizes friction and disagreement—but also the opportunity to grow, to learn, and to have our assumptions challenged."

The rise of technology, social networking platforms, and other forms of media have led to the diffusion of Christian culture and has resulted in a patchwork Christianity. This system of Christian practice is unsustainable and ineffective in building a faith that is able to reconcile the nature of God with the struggles and toils of humanity.
“Patchwork Christianity” refers to the use of popular Christian media as a primary source and replacement for scripture and theological analyses. It is alluding to a seemingly new phenomenon among millennials where Christian culture seems to become more sought after than a deeper understanding of God.
